Guided by Durga Maayan (Modern Yogini), Yoga Acharya at Praanaa Kendraa Ashram, Tiruvannamalai. This class continues our series on Headstand (Sirsasana) preparation, focusing on the strength, stability, and alignment needed to approach the posture safely. Headstand is often called the king of asanas, but before going upside down it is important to build a strong and stable foundation. In this session we continue developing the key elements required for the practice. In this class we focus on: • Strengthening the shoulders and upper back • Activating the core muscles • Stabilizing the forearms and foundation • Developing body awareness and control • Preparing the body step by step for Sirsasana This session is part of our ongoing preparation series, helping practitioners build the confidence and structural support needed before attempting the full headstand. Practice patiently and with awareness, allowing strength and stability to develop gradually. Contraindications: Avoid this practice if you have neck or cervical spine injuries, high or uncontrolled blood pressure, glaucoma or serious eye conditions, recent head/shoulder/spine injuries, heart conditions, or severe vertigo. Practice inversions with caution and under guidance if you are pregnant or new to headstand. Always listen to your body and work within your limits. ——— Join live yoga classes every morning at 6.30 AM (India time). 30 minutes yoga + 15 minutes optional meditation.
