Celebrate Soulfully at Disneyland: The Food, The Legacy, The Hidden Displays

Celebrate Black History Month with me at Disneyland! In this special episode of The Disney Noob, we take a moment to honor the leaders, artists, innovators, and storytellers whose impact has shaped culture, creativity, and imagination. And for me, one of the most powerful ways culture comes alive is through food — especially Cajun and Creole flavors that are bold, soulful, and full of history. So we’re doing this day the best way we know how: eating our way through some of Disneyland’s most vibrant spots, starting at Tiana’s Palace and ending at Lamplight Lounge (Boardwalk Dining) for the Black History Month special: New Orleans BBQ Shrimp. Along the way, we hunt down the Celebrate Soulfully displays across both parks — featuring legends and trailblazers like Leah Chase, Ron Husband, Martha Blanding, Floyd Norman, Scott Joplin, Lanny Smoot and more.
