The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Wii Speedrun in 3:43:32 (Wii Record 23/04-28/08/2019) New PB: • Twilight Princess [Wii] Any% PB History Previous run (3:50:55): • Twilight Princess Wii Any% Speedrun - 3:50:55 After going over my last run, I spent a short amount of time practicing the bigger things I messed up (early city and the barrier skip in hyrule castle) before doing another run attempt, knowing it'd be my last for another while. The first half was awful. Slow gate clip, 1:13 goats, 4 ems resets (one my fault completely, others from fast swings), failed a shadow beast fight, failed Ookless, failed Kargarok 'one cycle' and then missed the second grab, thirteenth try Midna dive... But most of the really important things were alright. Didn't fail sword and shield skip, first try early boomerang, and decent helmasaur LJA. Stuff started going a bit better at clawshot, where I got the deku toad 1 cycle, then a good vine clip into 2-bomb morpheel. Sloppiness continued but no huge mistakes. I voided in the first room in Arbiters, but got first try poe skip without dealing with the Moldorms. Spinner was sloppy all round, save for getting the rng manipulation on poe 4. Stallord's first phase was slow (interestingly, he didn't spawn the wall the first time I tried to get the third hit), but the second phase was amazing, with early hit, and a first try brakeslide for second hit. Entering snowpeak was alright (went the wrong way up the mountain), but the ruins itself was amazing. I got a first try spinner bomb boost, avoiding the cutscene and snow wolves, into a first try freezard clip, and then did a bomb strat on darkhammer. Was very pleased with this segment. Got early city fourth try, which isn't good but it was much better than losing nearly four minutes as in my run a few days ago. Then City in the Sky was amazing. There were a few slowish parts (having to deal with a helmasaur, slow aim) heading to double clawshots, but everything else went well, and I managed to get a fast aeralfos skip again. Then heading to Argorok was fast, made a good fan cycle, and the Argorok fight itself was great. Was satisfying to get a good sequence like that. Palace was alright overall, but had some rather large stupid mistakes, falling down in the most ridiculous places. Ended it with a sloppy Zant fight, but managed the one cycle in the mines phase so was at least happy with that. Hyrule Castle was sloppy, but I got the barrier skip first try, which was the important thing. Had my first block room void. Zelda gave me 10 cycles, which was the same as my previous run, and after a good beast Ganon I had an awful horseback, getting knocked off Epona multiple times and missing a couple of arrow shots. The final fight was also bad, but overall I'd still managed a 7 minute improvement so I can't be too annoyed. Again, this will be me for another couple months, and while it still isn't a 'good' run by my standards, I've at least managed to improve my standards hugely, and gotten a solid time improvement, so I'm pleased. Also, my sum of best segments is now 3:28:42, so my first 'distant' goal of beating Chimpas' segmented 3:31:40 is getting closer to being viable.
