I have rear drum brakes in my 1992 C1500. I have more than doubled the horse power from stock and it goes way faster, still haven’t found how fast it will go. No matter what I should get some safer brakes. Furthermore disks are also lighter, less rotational mass means more hp. I replaced the drums, they were worn out. Install the disks and replace the master cylinder. I’m going to bleed the system and hope for the best. My daily driver, a 1992 Chevy C1500 2wd long bed, GMT400, had a blown engine and needed to be swapped. I bought a 5.3L LS1 and installed it then proceeded to blow it up. The new engine is also a Gen3 Iron Block LS1 5.3L. I used everything I could from the old LS1. I had also bought and installed a T56 with a stage two clutch, whatever that means. I want to do this swap to make my truck back to my daily driver, but make the driving experience a little more fun. This video isn’t an instructional or a ‘How to’ video.
