The beautiful town of Nerja in the province of Málaga, Costa del Sol presents miles of pristine white beaches, mountainous backdrops, and cliffside coves bordering Spain’s Mediterranean coast. Its charming town center has several masterpieces of Roman, Baroque and Moorish architecture. You can wander past historic houses and cosy squares, with natural surroundings of cliffs and canyons. Balcón de Europa (Balcony of Europe) is located along Nerja’s coastline in the center of the old town. What used to be a heavily armed fortress is now a viewpoint dotted with palm trees and a promenade. The views over the beaches and rocky seashore are absolutely magnificent. Aside from the stellar scenery over the edge, Balcón de Europa has many restaurants and the white-plastered, 17th-century Church of El Salvador. Nerja boasts 16 kilometers of beaches with sparkling clear and calm water, and powdery sand. It is also equipped with many facilities and all major water sports activities are available along the coastline, such as water skiing, scuba diving and sailing to name a few.
