THE TRUE 3‑MILE BNSF MEGA MONSTER — FULL DYNAMICS DOWN CAJON PASS Sullivan’s Curve ➜ Cajon Junction • Main Track Two • Cajon Subdivision. The sharp 2160P 4K UHD footage showcases the immense strength and presence of these iconic machines. Adjust your settings, sit back, and enjoy the ride! A massive BNSF port stack train drops the west slope of Cajon Pass in full dynamic braking, stretching well over 3 miles from head end to rear. This is one of the longest intermodal trains you’ll see on the Cajon Subdivision — a true mega‑monster built in two enormous blocks of loaded wells, rolling hard through Sullivan’s Curve toward Cajon Junction. Up front, the lead trio takes control: BNSF 4293 ES44C4 • BNSF 4269 ES44C4 • BNSF 5934 ES44AC All three units are in full dynamic braking, holding back 135 loaded well cars on the head end. Deep in the consist, the mid‑train DPUs manage the second block: BNSF 7564 ES44DC • BNSF 8114 ES44C4 • CSX 5307 ES44DC These units are also in full dynamics, controlling another 132 loaded wells behind them. With most containers riding empty, this monster moves at a strong downhill pace — no shove, no power, just pure dynamic control on Main Track Two. BONUS CLIP — TIER 4 HORN SALUTE! After the main roll‑by, two units drift back toward San Bernardino from Cajon Summit: BNSF 3765 ET44C4 and BNSF 3683 ET44C4 These were trail DPUs on an earlier eastbound and were cut off at the summit. On their way back to base, the crew gives us a perfect “shave‑and‑a‑haircut” horn salute — a fun sendoff to wrap up the video. Buddy the Producer here. I oversaw this entire 3‑mile shoot — from the lead power lineup to the mid‑DPUs to that Tier 4 horn salute on the return trip. My dad handled the camera… I handled everything else. This mega‑stack has been fully inspected, approved, and stamped: Buddy Approved — Tail Wag Certified. Now do your part. Tell me which moment earned your seal of approval — the downhill dynamics, the mid‑train power, or that perfect horn salute. Producers like me need data.
