Rome, November 16th, 2025 – The Vincentian Family, through the Famvin Homeless Alliance (FHA), has concluded the “Pilgrimage of Hope” in Rome. A group of 50 people, representing beneficiary families of the "13 Houses" Jubilee Project as well as the global Vincentian Family leaders, brought their testimony of hope and overcoming poverty and homelessness to the heart of Christianity on the occasion of the 2025 Jubilee Year. During the week of November 9 to 17, families from Australia, Brazil, Chile, Italy, Peru (Chiclayo), Syria, Senegal, and Ukraine shared their stories after receiving a home thanks to this Vincentian Family initiative. The group, which included members of Christian and Muslim communities, highlighted the inclusive and global nature of the Vincentian charism, which is attentive and loving of all people regardless of their professed faith. One of the most important moments of the pilgrimage was the personal encounter with Pope Leo XIV. In a gesture of closeness, the Holy Father greeted the families one by one before the Mass for the World Day of the Poor, celebrated on Sunday, November 16, in St. Peter’s Basilica. In addition, a few days earlier they were also able to attend the General Audience on Wednesday, November 12, where they shared a spiritual moment with all the pilgrims. In a symbolic ceremony, the families received from Pope Leo XIV the symbolic keys sculpted by the renowned Canadian artist, Timothy Schmalz. These keys, previously blessed by Pope Francis, represent the 60 houses built under the "13 Houses" Jubilee Campaign, which have helped 551 people find a new start. The Holy Father personally blessed each of the families present.
