The new pollen count feature is particularly helpful for allergy sufferers and provides localized real-time data on the concentration of three types of pollen: trees, weeds and grasses. The values are classified on a five-level scale: none, low, moderate, high and very high. If pollen levels are very high, the app warns, for example: “The air is saturated with pollen: Severe allergic reactions are likely for sensitive people. It is recommended to avoid prolonged outdoor activities.” Users also receive a three-day forecast for each type of pollen so that they can anticipate peak values and adjust their activities accordingly.
