Soothe Your Soul Meditation Rock Climbing

Soothe your spirit with this "Rock Climbing Meditation" video. Join Steve De Maio on this deep and shallow water free solo and bouldering session of the 300 meter "Ragged Edge," 5.11 above Okanagan Lake in Vernon. The climbing, the music and the waves gently breaking against the rock will sooth any raw spirit in need of a cleanse. The camera angles feature both the "Bird's Eye View" and "Point of View" perspectives. Virtually get into that ethereal state where nothing exists but movement, sounds, the rock, the water all in the present moment. Much of the climbing feels like Thai Chi or Yoga as the waves wash over De Maio's feet. Of course, there are periods of intensity and struggle akin more to a Martial Art but these are short lived and quickly recovered from. This journey over the water feels symbolic somehow of life's journey, with graceful periods, stumbles, falls, moments of clarity and fluidity, yet also battle and conflict -- De Maio shows the conflict and struggle as a beautiful thing somehow, all part of the rich tapestry of this journey, this meditation. It's easy to get into the "zone" here and feel, at times, large, then small, important, then insignificant as other characters seen in the periphery are just getting on with their own lives, journeys, unaware of the toil, conflict and deep meditation that is going on the cliff below, above or alongside them as De Maio climbs. De Maio reports, "Wow, I feel as relaxed and "present" after watching this as I did after climbing it...."
