Welcome to the Collector Series—a dive into the spirited world of breweriana collecting! The Cone Top Brewery Museum has partnered with the National Association Breweriana Advertising (NABA) to showcase the passion and stories behind the collections of dedicated NABA members. From vintage outdoor signs to lithographs that once graced taproom walls, each collector shares their passion for the hobby, how they got started and some of their favorite pieces. Breweriana provides a remarkable glimpse of our past and the American breweries that have shaped today's culture. These collector stories are a testament to why preserving brewery history is so important. Through these videos we are able to represent the collector’s appreciation for breweriana and we hope to create a spark in new generations to join the conservation of beer memorabilia. These collector videos will be a part of the vast collection and ongoing preservation effort at The Cone Top Brewery Museum in Vicksburg, Michigan. --- About the Collector: Randy Huetsch Chesterfield, MO As a 12-year-old riding his bike through the woods, Randy Huetsch discovered an embossed bottle from the early 1900s. Intrigued that it carried the name of his tiny hometown, Waterloo, IL, Randy researched its origins and thus began what became his lifelong hobby as an expert and avid collector of antique advertising. Today, the lower level of his spacious home features an impressive, gallery-like display of breweriana—much of it from before Prohibition—with many pieces believed to be either unique or one of just a few examples that still exist. Over the many years in which he has been collecting, Randy has curated a notable collection of corner signs, porcelain signs, reverse-on-glass, tin-over-cardboard, self-framed tin signs and other rare advertising from the St. Louis area, and is well versed in the history of each of these artifacts. --- About NABA: Founded in 1972, NABA is a group dedicated to the history, preservation and enjoyment of brewery advertising from the 1800s through the present day.
