Choquequirao to Machu Picchu, an adventure of a lifetime! In the second episode we begin day 2 of our journey in Chiquisca and went down to the Apurimac river. From there, we began a brutal climb up one of the biggest canyons in the world. After a very tiring and challenging climb, we rested in Marampata, a charming village at the top of the mountain. On our third day, we got up very early and prepared to visit the ruins of Choquequirao. It's incredible to see an ancient city so big and at the same time so empty. We had plenty of time to explore the city and after a short rest, we climbed to the Choquequirao pass and then descended the mountain towards Pinchaunuyoc. Pinchaunuyoc is what the Incas called a "Tambo", a storage place for clothes, weapons and food that also served as a warehouse for travelers and messengers of the empire. Along the way to Machu Picchu we would pass a few more places like this. The incredible thing is that the paths to reach these ancient cities are in fact the original paths used by the Inca people more than 500 years ago. If you like history and trekking this is an adventure you should consider taking. 00:00 - Intro 01:11 - Chiquisca to Apurimac River 05:09 - Apurimac River to Marampata 07:57 - Marampata to Choquequirao 10:26 - Choquequirao 21:14 - Choquequirao to Pinchaunuyoc 22:46 - End of day three 24:03 - End ____________________________________________________________________________ If you liked this video, leave a like and subscribe to the channel and turn on notifications, so you can follow all the videos in this series.
