Two weeks till our 6week tour of Europe 🌟🖤🌟 From Ambulance to Adventure Rig 🚐✨ After over three painstaking hours of peeling off the ambulance decals — and Angie giving Bertie a proper polish — we stood back and knew something was missing: new tyres. So off we went to Protyres in Hilsea, Portsmouth, where we scored a great deal: five General Grabber AT3s for £825. These tyres came highly recommended, and we’re already feeling the difference. Next stop: the weighbridge. Fully loaded with tools and gear, Bertie tipped the scales at 3,120 kg. Once we set off in two weeks, we’ll be much lighter — just us, the essentials, and the open road. We also gave the wheels a fresh coat of matte black, and wow — what a transformation. Bertie no longer looks like an ambulance. He’s becoming the dream campervan we’ve always imagined. Inside, the painting is done ✅ The shower wet room won’t be finished before we leave, but that’s no biggie — we’ll be staying at Municipal Campsites and Camping Carparks across France, most of which have showers and toilets. All that’s left now is the solar install: 1,000W of panels going up on the roof, all sourced from City Plumbing in Portsmouth. ⏳ Just two weeks to go until our 6-week European tour begins.
