Planting trees in the Uilenkraal Valley - Forests for Life | Greenpop

Greenpop has been working in the Uilenkraal Valley, Overberg, South Africa since 2011. The Platbos Forest Reserve was Greenpop's first forest restoration partner. Custodians of the forest, Francois Krige and Melissa Saayman's passion for the conservation of Platbos Forest have been a guiding light for our work in the area. Over the last 10 years, 73,000 trees have been planted through our partnership with the Platbos Forest Reserve to restore degraded patches of the indigenous forest. In 2020 we finished our work at Platbos Forest and branched out to the neighbouring site, Bodhi Khaya Nature Retreat to continue our work in the area. We first planted here in March 2021, and have already put more than 8,000 trees in the ground.
