Mlatho Hills Reforestation Project | Mulanje Mission Hospital

The Mulanje Mission Hospital, through its Sustainable Livelihoods programme, aims to promote and support activities that underpin a broad approach to improving community health and nutrition. For most people living in rural areas, forests and trees are sources of food, fuel, fodder, medicine, and building materials as well as cash income.  In partnership with Greenpop, this project will focus on reforesting 2 hectares of indigenous forest, training communities in sustainable forest management, expanding the implementation of agroforestry, increasing the use of improved cookstove technology, and developing income-generating tree and forest product enterprises such as beekeeping.  Video Credit: Mulanje Mission Hospital, Sustainable Livelihoods Programme www.mmh.mw
