It is often given in the prehospital setting for nausea and vomiting. Suffix: When a medication has the suffix -azine it typically indicates that it falls into the phenothiazine drug class. Examples: Promethazine can cause sedation and hypotension, it should be administered with caution, especially in elderly patients.
