The Minuteman Express Quad is a four-person detachable chairlift located at Wachusett Mountain. The chairlift runs from the base area up to about 3/4 of the way up the mountain to its own small peak, located to the west of the summit. The chairlift serves the western half of the mountain, which consists of a pod of easier intermediate terrain and the ski area's terrain parks. The chairlift was manufactured by Doppelmayr and installed at the ski area in 1999, replacing the old 1982 Doppelmayr Nor'easter Triple chairlift. Wachusett Mountain is a ski area located in Westminster and Princeton, Massachusetts. The ski area is located in north-central Massachusetts in Worcester County. Wachusett is located right off of State Route 2 as well as near Interstate 190. The ski area is well-known for being easy to access from major cities in Massachusetts, being only an hour's drive northwest of Boston and a 30-minute drive north of Worcester. Wachusett is also popular amongst families due to its single base area, its excellent learn-to-ski program, and its large variety of gentle groomed terrain for everyone in the family. Three high-speed quad chairlifts serve three distinct pods on the mountain. The Polar Express serves intermediate and advanced terrain from the summit, the Minuteman Express serves easier intermediate terrain while the Monadnock Express serves the beginner area. The ski area is independently owned and not a destination on any multi-mountain passes.
