This walking guided meditation for power and focus will lead you through some short mind body exercises in breathing, posture, awareness and presence, to help you: Enhance your confidence Decrease anxiety Improve your overall sense of well being This is a walking or visualization meditation intended to be practiced anytime and anywhere. It is a great tool to be used daily when walking to work, strolling about town or any time your are moving from here to there. It is intended to help you positively influence the way you feel. These exercises are particularly helpful if you are stressed, facing a challenge or even if you just want more presence, peace and positivity in you daily life. This meditation will introduce you to some techniques that can help you clear your head and put you in a more positive and productive state of mind. Often, in our day to day lives, we get consumed and weighed down thinking about all the things we have to do and the challenges we face. This creates feelings and a state of mind that is not productive, powerful, creative or positive. Throughout this guided walking meditation, you will become aware of your body through the therapeutic practice of diaphragmatic or deep belly breathing. Deep belly breathing is proven to have many benefits including decreasing anxiety and improving relaxation by triggering a sympathetic neurological state in the body. Your heart rate can lower and your blood pressure can improve through this practice and it is used in many disciplines to achieve peak performance and positive mental states. Another tool you will practice in this exercise is the use of power positions in your posture and your movement. Putting ourselves in a positive body position has been shown to increase confidence, decrease stress and improve our sense of well being. I will guide you to take a tall erect posture with a welcoming and open hand position, shoulders down and back, chest and head held high, and eyes up. I will encourage you to smile or grin and even to let out a powerful roar if you are so inclined. You will become keenly aware of your body and its motion as you walk and this will help to get you out of your head and into your body. This movement and body positioning is a helpful state to be in when working on inner therapeutic concepts and change. Within this meditation I will help you understand that our feelings and our moods are our bodies way of projecting what it interprets from internal and external sensory input or ques. That means that what you hear, see, smell, touch, taste and feel internally and externally helps to shape your mood and ability to be happy and resourceful. I will also point out that it is common behavior to have a negative bias when we interpret these ques and that these negative interpretations are often amplified and held onto in our minds and bodies through the common practice of self talk At the end of this meditation, you will refocus on your task at hand and carry your newfound power, peace and resourcefulness with you.
