Hello everyone! Today in our kitchen, we are making Striped Pastries (Şeritli Poğaça) that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate. With their cotton-soft texture and sesame topping, these will be the star of your tea time! ☕✨ 📋 Ingredients: For the Dough: 1 cup warm milk 1 cup warm water 1 packet (10g) instant yeast 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 egg (white for the dough, yolk for the top) 5.5 - 6 cups all-purpose flour (add gradually) 🔷For the Filling (Optional): Feta cheese, olive paste, or chocolate/jam as seen in the video. 🔷For the Topping: Egg yolk Sesame seeds 👨🍳 Directions: Proofing: Mix the warm milk, water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly. Kneading: Add the oil, egg white, and salt. Gradually add the flour and knead until you have a soft, non-sticky dough. Cover and let it rise for 45 minutes. Shaping: Take lemon-sized pieces of dough. Roll them into an oval shape. Cut thin strips on one half of the oval. Place your filling on the solid half, roll it up towards the strips, and curve it slightly into a crescent shape. Baking: Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
