California's courtrooms ban cameras, no longer have court reporters but have plenty of attorneys appointed to represent children. Public records show this one attonrey was paid over $600,000 by taxpayers to represent children during their parents' divorce or child custody dispute. So why do children need attorneys when their parents can't afford attorneys themselves? We keep asking those questions along with our requests for court adminstrative records.
