Adam James, MD United States Air Force Emergency Medicine Physician CSTARS Instructor University of Maryland Associate Faculty May 8, 2025 Training By, Dr. Adam James is an Active-Duty Air Force Emergency Medicine physician assigned to the University of Maryland as a CSTARS instructor and associate faculty at the University of Maryland Emergency Medicine residency. He started his career as an Air Force Pararescueman, where he became a paramedic. He decided to change direction in 2009 after several deployments and become a physician. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor in Molecular and Cellular Biology, attended the University of Minnesota Medical School, and completed his residency at Wright State University in Dayton OH. Currently, he is the medical director for the Baltimore County SWAT team. He has maintained his paramedic license and has a passion and respect for EMS.
