Day 4, Most Worth Unto You. Spiritual Atmosphere The spiritual atmosphere you create among you, your family, and your friends needs to be based on Christ—His mission, His gospel. It will also greatly impact your them. As you focus on Him, the Lord will multiply and bless your efforts and your work, and your service will be perfected in Him as promised in the scriptures. One way to experience a continuing transformation of the family is through Jesus Christ is by helping them to provide Christlike service. Find opportunities to serve those around you with family and friends. Do you remember the story of Ammon. As you and your family and friends serve in this way, you apply in purity the Ammon principle found in the Book of Mormon. It is certainly one of the most amazing stories found in the Book of Mormon. He and his fellow missionaries were the instruments in the Lord’s hand to converting thousands of Lamanites to Christ, thereby changing the course of Lamanite history. (See Alma 27:26.) When Ammon entered the land, he was bound and taken before the king. When the king asked what he wanted, Ammon replied, “I desire to dwell among this people for a time.” (Alma 17:23.) King Lamoni was so impressed with Ammon that he offered him his daughter’s hand in marriage. (Alma 17:24.) But Ammon declined the offer, saying, “Nay, but I will be thy servant.” (Alma 17:25.) As a servant, Ammon was given the task of helping to watch the king’s flocks and to feed his horses. You know the rest of this exciting story. In the end, King Lamoni, upon hearing of Ammon’s acts of selfless service, was ready to listen to Ammon’s message—the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ. (See Alma 17:28–38.) You and I serve because we love the Lord and love our neighbors without expecting a reward or recognition. Remember why were given our moral agency as a gift from our Father in Heaven. The purpose of agency isn’t to do whatever we want. It was to choose God and serve, love, and bless others. I want to assure you; the Lord always blesses you and I for doing His will.
