Mayor Faulconer outlines a COVID-19 economic relief package NEW PROPOSALS WILL PROVIDE SUPPORT, REDUCE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES San Diego – Adding to recent efforts to lessen the economic impacts of COVID-19, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer will announce new proposals to provide more relief and stimulus to City of San Diego businesses. Mayor Faulconer will outline proactive and creative solutions that defer fees, provide certainty, and offer support to local employers affected by the global pandemic. Small businesses are some of the first to feel the fallout from public health mandates that limit gatherings in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. 98 percent of San Diego businesses have fewer than 100 employees. The news conference will be streamed on the City of San Diego’s Facebook page and Twitter page, and will be available on Channel 24. Social distancing protocols will be in place during the news conference to protect the safety and health of all participants.
