It was launched on the market from early 2017, and in 2021 it went through restyling (facelift), whose cosmetic changes are not very easy to see at first glance, except for true Kodiaq fans. :D The first generation was sold in 60 markets around the world and only a few years after the start of production exceeded the figure of 600,000 sales. That paved the way for two more smaller Škoda crossover/SUV models - the smaller Karoq and the even smaller Kamiq. The new, second-generation Kodiaq was introduced in the fall of 2023, with deliveries starting in 2024. With its dimensions, the Škoda Kodiaq is at the upper end of the compact car segment. It is 4,697 mm long, 1,882 mm wide and 1,676 mm tall (including roof rails); its wheelbase measures 2,791 mm. The Kodiaq is based on Volkswagen Group's modular transverse matrix (MQB) in which strict lightweight construction plays an important role. The Laurin & Klement trim level added a higher level of luxury - it came with a chrome front fascia, 19-inch wheels and unique bumpers. A special color palette gives a special look in this most luxurious equipment package. The interior features leather seats with an embroidered L&K logo, piano black plastic on the front console, aluminum pedals and a panoramic roof. Canton stereo and "Columbus" (9.2 inch) infotainment are also standard. All versions of the Škoda Kodiaq Laurin & Klement come with all-wheel drive. Škoda has expanded the Kodiaq model range with an SUV-coupe version - the Kodiaq GT (only on the Chinese market). The biggest difference from the regular Kodiaq is in the completely redesigned rear, with a lower roofline and less headroom for rear passengers. Big, practical, well made... and conservative - It's a Kodiaq. The Škoda Kodiaq is an all-rounder: the SUV is suitable for business, as well as family and leisure use - and drives off-road with ease. Škoda added a more fun, somewhat sporty note to it with the RS version - the first SUV in Škoda's sporty RS family - and there is also a designer sports version under the name Sportline.
