The main 51.5 mile stretch of the Cardinal Greenway in Indiana runs from the Southern end at Richmond up to Gaston at the Northern end. There is also another disconnected 8.5 mile section between Gas City and Sweetster. We parked at the Jacksonburg trailhead that lies somewhat mid-way in our ride between Richmond and just North of Blountsville. This is a rural rail trail by best description with grades no more than 3% and has regular trailheads throughout with porta-johns at each. Looking at the service schedule posted inside these, it would appear they are cleaned every 5-7 days. These are put out in mid-May and taken up in the Fall. Take a good supply of drinking water. Some trailheads have water fountains, but this year they have been turned off due to the virus. Richmond and Muncie would have places to eat, otherwise not much between. There is a nice Chick-fil-a right next to the trail in Muncie, if not riding on Sunday. This trail offers a century ride if you travel fully up and back. Losantville trailhead is central to this main section of the greenway. Look to the East when near Economy, IN and see all the windmill turbines.
