History and Background Information: The Rossfeldstraße was built from 1937 to 1940 as the eastern end of the German Alpine Road (Deutsche Alpenstraße). It was part of the NS-Propaganda and is surrounded by a lot of former important NS-Institutions. The road has got a maximum gradient of 13%. From the Rossfeld Road you have a beautiful 360° view, also on some former NS Buildings. The surrounding area is famous for cultural and natural sights. A Part of the Road is on Austrian Territory but a special treaty allows Germany to use this territory. Every Summer a historic rally called "Edelweiß Bergpreis" takes Place here.
