The current episode focuses on Sufism, Sufi saints, and their enduring importance not only in the Kashmir Valley but across different parts of the country. India has been home to countless Sufi saints who have preached peace, love, and brotherhood among people of all faiths. Among these revered shrines is the Dargah of Hazrat Syed Sher Ali Agha (RA), popularly known as Banjari Wale Baba, located at Motibagh Auliya Chowk in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The shrine has become a living symbol of communal harmony, where hundreds of Hindus and Muslims visit daily to offer prayers, seek blessings, and find solace from their troubles. Built in 1983, after the saint’s passing, the Dargah continues to draw devotees from all walks of life who firmly believe that their wishes are fulfilled and ailments cured here. The shrine’s caretaker, Mohammad Naveen Rizvi, highlights that the trust managing the Dargah includes both Hindus and Muslims—working together in service of Baba and upholding his message of unity and compassion. Before the Dargah was built, Baba used to sit at Banjari Chowk, where thousands of devotees—Hindus and Muslims alike—would gather to seek his blessings. His followers believed his blessings had miraculous power to remove suffering and bring peace. Over time, Baba’s fame spread far and wide, attracting people from distant regions. Even today, the Dargah of Banjari Wale Baba stands as a beacon of interfaith harmony, drawing thousands of devotees who continue to believe that their prayers are answered and their problems resolved. It remains a sacred space where faith transcends religion, and shared devotion strengthens the spirit of peace and brotherhood. Sufi Saint: Hazrat Syed Sher Ali Agha Location: Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
