6 Year old treks to Everest Base Camp | Part 1/7 - Kathmandu to Lukla by Helicopter Welcome to our journey to the base of the top of the world (Everest Base Camp 5364m) where we both along with our son Om (6 years old) embarked on the most adventurous trip of our life. Om was going to become the youngest Singaporean to do so if he gets successful in this endeavour. This 1st part video is about how we spent our first 3 days hustling back and forth between Kathmandu airport and our Hotel in a hope that we could ever fly to Lukla and start our trek. Emotions --------------- Gosh. It's been about 3 days of waiting around in the domestic airport here in Kathmandu, in hope of flying out to Lukla. The weather there and a multiple other reasons have held up our journey. Trying to keep our spirits up especially for Om. He has been amazing. Coping with the situation of being stuck days in the airport. Entertaining himself and us. No major dramas. Love this little boy. We have also been working extra hard to get us out on the next available helicopter. Drama, politics withing these guides and helicopter carriers! We hate being swished around in it. But it's the way it is here. Anyways we are still hopeful we can get up to these majestic mountains. We want to just simply be there amongst these giants. To remember and find some meaning in our life. To see the colours that has been painted in our heads. We deserve this moment. To feel this rush that falls all around us. ⛰️ 📞. Come one now. Sending this to the universe. LUKLA! We're coming for you today. About us -------------- We are Mayur, Gayatri and Om residing in sunny Singapore. Amongst us we have an Indian who grew up in India, a Singaporean ceylonese who spent decade of her life in Australia and lastly our son, a true born citizen of the mixes, half Indian, half ceylonese and very Singaporean. Our videos mainly consist of mountain climbing trips, some solo journeys but mostly of our family of 3. We thrive with each others company on our road less travelled in our own unique style. We really love off the beaten kind of adventures, eating local food, meeting ethnic tribes, going back in time with some historical sites and simply getting lost. Being in corporate job for the daily survival, our dream here is to inspire people to explore this beautiful world and realise that there is more in life than just 9 to 5.
