6 Year old treks to Everest Base Camp | Part 2/7 - Lukla to Phakding to Benkar Welcome to our journey to base of the top of the world (Everest Base Camp 5364m) where we both along with our son Om (6 years old) embarked on the most adventurous trip of our life. Om was going to become the youngest Singaporean to do so if he gets successful in this endeavour. This 2nd part video is about how we spent our 4th day trekking from Lukla to Phakding to the small sleepy town of Benkar where spent the night. Emotions --------------- Such sweet sleep in Lukla last night. It feels so surreal to be up amongst the mountains finally. Its a little rainy and foggy this morning. As we were 3 days late our plan today is to head from Lukla to Phakding. We will start down below in Lukla before heading into the valley up above and along the river as we make our way to Phakding. As we started our walk through the sleepy little town of Lukla shops were slowly opening up and we started off by buying warm bits and pieces for Om. We caught sight of our 1st big beautifully inscribed Mane it surprised us with a "ding" once it had turned a 360degrees. We saw many along the way and Om insisted he had to go and spin them all! Everything along this walk was green and very lush. We could see the helicopter route because that's the path it takes to fly into lukla so we saw many helicopters pass us. The walk seemed generally easy to start off with. We're feeling good and strong. We got our first taste of crossing a bridge. There are many such ones along the way. We stop at Ghat to have lunch. Had our first taste of Dal Bhat! Truly felt fulfilled. Happy belly! Strong feet! Off we continued to Phakding. This town is a very established town. Many trekkers stop by here to spend the night. Its also a very long village with a massive bridge to cross. The beauty of this crossing! Our eyes were dancing! Once we got there we felt that since Om was doing well we decided to continue the walk to the next village Benkar. So as to help our journey for tomorrow. Benkar is a much smaller village sitting in the midst of a valley. Truly everywhere we look its a feast for our eyes. The path to Benkar gets a little bit more challenging and rugged. Such a relief once we get there. 8 hours of walking through the mountains today. ⛰️ 📞 at its best! Also watch the 1st part where we spent 3 days in airport hoping we could fly out of Kathmandu to Lukla in a helicopter • 6 Year old treks to Everest Base Camp | Pa... About us -------------- We are Mayur, Gayatri and Om residing in sunny Singapore. Amongst us we have an Indian who grew up in India, a Singaporean ceylonese who spent decade of her life in Australia and lastly our son, a true born citizen of the mixes, half Indian, half ceylonese and very Singaporean. Our videos mainly consist of mountain climbing trips, some solo journeys but mostly of our family of 3. We thrive with each others company on our road less travelled in our own unique style. We really love off the beaten kind of adventures, eating local food, meeting ethnic tribes, going back in time with some historical sites and simply getting lost. Being in corporate job for the daily survival, our dream here is to inspire people to explore this beautiful world and realise that there is more in life than just 9 to 5.
