This rugged, simple showerhead made of entirely brass sold by Ace Hardware comes in today as this channel's 19th featured product! This showerhead uses a fairly generic retro design that a lot of showerheads advertised as "all metal" use. It has two sprayers with a non-indexed dial on the side to adjust the volume of the spray. On Ace Hardware's website they incorrectly state that this showerhead has 6 settings. This is plainly false. This particular model is very much *not* 6 setting. It is simply adjustable in volume. Additionally the website states outdated information that this showerhead has a flow rate of 2.5gpm. The current product sold in stores as far as I am aware comes only in 1.8gpm. ======================================================= This showerhead can be adjusted via the dial to allow the user to choose between a: 1 Wide, standard shower spray with a low velocity outer stream of incredible width, and a very small center stream of high velocity. 2 The two sprays converge into a narrow deluge with high volume, low strength. Great for cleaning the lower body. As previously mentioned the dial is fully adjustable and not indexed so you can stop it at any point in transition between these states. Additionally this showerhead is fully serviceable. As demonstrated in the second half of the video, most moving parts of this showerhead can be broken down, cleaned, or modified to the user's specification. Which is really cool to see, definitely an old school design. ====================================================== As for my opinion: ====================================================== The wider standard spray is underwhelming, It is by far the widest stream I have ever come across in a smaller showerhead such as this. While this may be preferred by many, I find it leaves much to be desired in center coverage. The 6 holes on the center of the face are supposed to alleviate this issue however they are much thinner with much higher stream velocity than the lower strength outer stream. As a result, by the time the water contacts your body the outer and inner sprays converge, leaving a gargantuan deadzone in the center. The second, more narrow deluge option is much more effective for cleaning the lower body. With impressive water volume in a more focused area. That being said, the stream strength is fairly mediocre in general with this product. ====================================================== All in all if you are looking for a very rugged and long lasting showerhead that is serviceable, this could be a good choice. Just be aware that the stream strength is slightly on the lower end, and that the width of the stream may be something to consider based on your preferences. Model Number: 40078-C A
