The Trinity Islam and the Trinity, A Theological Exploration It can be said that, in the last century, no Christian teaching has received as much attention as the Trinity. Inclinations and considerations of the topic, in the Western world, have brought exquisite and profound achievements to the body of Christ, and consequently have led to the formation of deeper conversations and more eloquent teachings in the church. Among these achievements are lasting works and invaluable thoughts that have made the experiences of Christians more vivid and the depth of their faith more enchanting. Unfortunately, up until the present day, very little of this lavish theological feast has made its way into the Persian-speaking Church. Although several valuable books have been written in this field, and Iranian intellect has fed the minds of the saints, the spiritual thirst of the Persian Church remains unquenched. The book at hand has not been written with the aim of quenching this thirst, thereby ending the intellectual pursuit of the Persian-speaking church; rather, it is meant to provoke further thought and a deeper longing for truth. The purpose of this text is to join in a conversation that was started earlier, in the books and Trinitarian discourses of my esteemed brothers, Dr. Mehrdad Fatehi, Dr. Sasan Tavassoli, and Rev. Farid Yassini. It is also noteworthy that to speak and write about the Trinity in the context of the Persian-language church, which has sprouted from the dusty soil of Islam, is not so easy. On the one hand, the doctrine of the Trinity provides a context in which the Bible makes sense. The Gospel of salvation depends upon it; that is, without acceptance of the Trinity, the accurate reading of the Scriptures is not possible and the good news of our Lord is distorted. On the other hand, many saints who leave Islam, struggle for a long time with this doctrine. Fulfilling the above, this book deals with the Trinity in two parts: Section A: this section pays attention to the theological dimensions of the doctrine of the Trinity, analyzing it from different angles. Section B: this section has a more apologetic tone, and consists of three chapters exploring the following topics: an intertextual dialogue with different authors, verses of the Qur'an and Muslim thinkers, and a dialogue based on critical, defensive, and analytical methods. If this book makes even a small contribution to the empowerment of the Persian-speaking Church, if only to ignite a spark of enthusiasm in its readers that they may grow ever more devoted to contemplation and teaching, and especially in teaching the doctrine of the Trinity, it will have fulfilled its purpose.
