One of my favorite things to do is take a pixie that you usually wear messy and give it a really nice bit of polish and change to it. We're going to start with pre-dampening the hair, which I've already done, and add a thick polishing product to the hair and then kind of layer it in. So I'm just distributing this with my hands. I'm eventually going to put a really deep part in here, but I'm going to start on the opposite side and start smoothing the hair down. I'm using a fine-toothed comb to do that, and I'm kind of layering in sections. It's going to look quite simple, like we just parted the hair and combed it over, but it's a little bit more advanced. So, you just keep bringing more hair over and smoothing it. This helps you to get a really nice, smooth finish without a lot of work. Just keep smoothing layer after layer. When I'm working in the salon on hair like this, I like to keep just a little bit of the product on the back of my hand, so if you need to add a little bit more, you can. As you go, you see it's all nice and smooth. We're almost getting to the part where I put the part in. So, I'm also moving the hair back away from the face, so it's going over and back. You can be assured that by using the right amount of product and kind of starting on the bottom and work your way up, this is a style that will last you all night. You're not going to have to constantly be re-wetting it. It will really last for you. I'm going to make this part really nice and crisp. I'm going to go and define it even more. Then, you can just start smoothing down the non-parted side. If you have straighter hair naturally, this might be a bit easier for you. That's a really great way to do a retro look if you have a pixie cut.
