20 scales, 4 frontrunners, and a bit more testing to do! I keep getting asked what my favorite scale is and I don’t feel right choosing a winner without putting in some more time with them. Sometimes, those little annoyances don’t show up until you’ve consistently used an item. But, I can definitely share where I’m leaning, and each scale has its own pros and cons. Just depends what you’re looking for. Atogou Pros: most accurate (measures at 1g), quick readings, good for any sized bowl or bin, great price, big weight capacity (33 lb), auto shut-off can be increased to 10 mins, small so easy to store Cons: separate display unit can be a little annoying (two units to store, what if they get separated); the brand is a no-name brand from Amazon… can’t find any way to reach customer service, they could be here today and gone tomorrow OXO Pros: lightning fast readings, auto shut-off is extremely long so no worries of losing your current reading, display pulls out to accommodate big bowls or bins, max weight limit bar so you know when you’re reaching the limit, decent weight limit (11 lb) but may not be enough for some Cons: potentially the weight limit, price, hard to clean (lots of nooks and crannies), can’t measure below 2g Amazon Basics Pros: price, pretty quick on the readings, users report extremely long battery life and great durability, small and easy to store, decent weight limit (11 lb) but may not be enough for some Cons: can’t measure below 2g, 2 minute auto timeout, no “extra” features that make it special Zwilling Pros: Rechargable (no batteries), very easy to clean (zero nooks and crannies), fast readings, 22 lb weight limit (more than most), aesthetically very pretty, sleek and easy to store, just “feels” higher end (not plastic or lightweight - it’s glass and sturdy in the hand) Cons: not as accurate (can't do 1g and off by 1-2g on all other weights), price I have a lot more work to do but would be very curious to hear your thoughts so far on my findings and if there’s anything you really want me to focus on! #kitchenscales #sourdoughbaking My favorite sourdough tools and supplies: https://shop.thatsourdoughgal.com/ama...
