Gran Turismo 7 is coming out in March 2022, so I want to try to get a good amount of completion in all of the previous Gran Turismo games until then. After that I moved to PC though, so I never got to play GT 4-6. Before GT7 I want to try to revisit GT 1-3 and also play through GT 4-6 for the first time. I am not sure if I will manage to get all of it done but I will see how far I can get. With less than 4 weeks remaining until the release of GT7 I am finally starting my GT6 playthrough as well. This is my first time ever playing this game and I am excited to get to know it. GT6 begins with a tutorial and forces you to buy the Honda Fit as your first car. The progression through the events is also a bit more linear here compared to the previous games. I decided to use the Honda Fit without upgrades for the whole Novice section, which gave me some closes races already in the second and third cup. We also get to race on Brands Hatch and Willow Springs here, which are two real world tracks that are making their franchise debut in GT6. As a reward car from the Novice Championship we are getting the Renault Clio from the tutorial. In my next GT6 video I will get the first license. Overall my first impression of the game is quite positive, just like it was in GT5. I really like the handling of the GT games on PS3. I feel like I have much better car control here with gamepad than I do in GT Sport. And the car lineup might be the best in all of racing games with over 1200 cars. I am actually struggling to see how GT7 should be able to beat this game in those areas based on what we know about it so far. Some people don't like GT6 very much because of its very linear progression and the fact that every car is freely available at the dealer as long as you have the money (with no cars being exclusive rewards for winning specific cups), which makes completing the cups a bit less rewarding. And I can certainly agree that the freedom of progression and the exclusive rewards in GT 1-4 have a certain charm. I think that GT5 and GT6 are very cool games in their own way as well though and now that I have gotten to know them I am surprised that they aren't more popular and talked about. I will definitely try to finish all 6 of the original Gran Turismo games. Obviously I won't get them fully done before GT7 anymore but I will continue them all at a later point when the GT7 hype has died down a bit. And I think that I might actually enjoy some of them even more than I will enjoy GT7. I am sure that GT7 will be a solid game and at least a bit better than GT Sport. And I will definitely be playing it very much after it comes out and I already have quite a few videos planned for it. I actually doubt that it will be the best GT ever though after seeing how awesome GT4 and even 5 and 6 actually are, at least in certain areas. Either way make sure to follow my channel if you like Gran Turismo because I will be showing a ton of it for many more months, both in the old games and in GT7. :)
