In today’s Saint Story for Kids, we meet Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys, the first female saint of Canada and a courageous missionary who helped build faith, education, and community in a brand-new land. Born in France and sent to New France (Canada), Saint Marguerite became known as the “Mother of the Colony.” She founded the Congregation of Notre-Dame of Montreal and introduced a new way of religious life for women — uncloistered, active, and close to the people. She taught children, supported families, and served both settlers and Indigenous peoples with love and humility. In this episode, children will learn: Who Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys was Why teaching and service mattered to her How she bravely helped shape early Canada How God calls women to serve in bold and creative ways Her story gently shows kids that loving God often means stepping out, helping others learn, and serving wherever we are needed. Perfect for families, classrooms, children’s liturgy, and young hearts learning about faith, courage, and service.
