This Incubus tune is one I'd been wanting to cover for quite some time, and I think it's one of few tunes that really makes use of the sound characteristics that comes with playing with Splashsticks/Multi-Rods/Hot Rods. I think it fits the composition perfectly - fantastic choice by José Pasillas. For those interested: I'm using the Vater Splashstick "Rock" for this cover. There were definitely some challenges to this song too, especially when it comes to the dynamics and being extremely even in the execution. You can probably hear me flam towards the original track here and there. I love the small crescendos within the groove and the ghost notes during the verses and into/re-intro. Very cool. ONE DIFFERENCE COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL: During the choruses, I'm pretty sure José's playing his left hand ghost notes on the hi-hat rather than the snare like I'm doing. In my case, it somehow matched the sound better doing it on the snare. If you're going for an exact cover however, keep this in mind!
