Teaching crisis in Wajir county

Up until the morning of Friday 16th February 2018, life had returned to normalcy in centres of learning after teachers first walked out of the North Eastern region citing security concerns. For the second time in almost four years the exodus out of the rural parts of wajir is back on , the death of two teachers and a spouse of one of them inducing fear among many. The exodus has hit schools in the region hard, disrupting learning in the first term, many in the region are now considering urging the local youth to train as teachers as a long term solution but for now are asking TSC not to bring in new non local teaching staff but temporarily bring back the untrained teachers who will ensure that the children of WAJIR continue to learn and prepare to compete with their colleagues from other parts of Kenya.
