Founded by 43-year-old Vikash Abraham, Urban Farms Co is based in Palla village in NCR. Urban Farms Co is aiming to end the smog of pollution that engulfs North India every winter due to stubble burning. They collect stubble from farmers and instead of burning it, they create 100 feet long and 6 feet high piles of stubble, cow dung and green matter. After 30 days they mix up all the layers and in 90 days it is turned into high-quality compost that’s good for the crop and great for the air as it stops the air pollution. This compost is then used by the farmers instead of chemical fertilizers and boosts the produce by up to 30%!
