Bluey is a 14 week old juvenile male Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who managed to trap himself inside an a louvered outdoor room in an internal apartment in a new apartment complex. I don't know how long he was there without being noticed (it depends on how long it had been since that apartment was being worked on). He was a bit smacked around, dehydrated and concussed and was hanging a little wonkily. After 48 hours in care, and surviving (YAY), I took him to the Princess for an other assessment in case there was something I had missed to explain his presentation and care curve. Both of us agree there is something a bit weird about him, something quite wrong. We don't know what is going on but both of us thing there may be a fracture in his 5th distal knuckle, and maybe also an injury to his collarbone or ribs. I await Vicky our favourite vet nurse to be working so she can do an xray for us. I have hopes for Bluey's survival, however I am realistic enough to know that if there is a fracture in either the collarbone or that finger joint, it isn't going to end well.
