Bluey is a 14 week juvenile flying-fox who was found in an outdoor room surrounded by louvred slats, in an apartment block under construction. I don't know how long her was there - depending on when the builders had been working in that apartment, he may have been there for several days. He survived his first few days in care, despite the odds, and though he was a bit wonky, he was improving enough that I had hopes for his survival. I arranged some xrays of his clavicles, because often the bats who collide with immovable objects have fractures in their clavicles. Our favourite vet nurse cleared him of any clavicle fractures, but she didn't have access to the dental xray machine for a fine xray of the troublesome joint where I (and the Princess) suspected there was a fracture. I arranged a subsequent dental x-ray with another vet practice, and ... well, there was a fracture there and I didn't bring him home with me. RIP Bluey. Bugger, bugger, bugger and bugger again.
