Lavender Blues is a 14 week juvenile Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was trapped in a louvred outdoor room. This is his first 24 hours in care. I was really surprised to see him bright eyed 12 hours later, followed by him being very active overnight in the incubator and trying to escape, and alive in the morning, though I have to admit I though he was dead or nearly dead from the seriously weird way he was hanging in the incubator and his lack of response to my turning on the light. I still have no idea why he was hanging like that, and can only think it was his head smack which was doing it. He was hanging with one thumb up though, and has done so throughout his time in care, which indicates a degree of dizziness so he needs to steady himself. He has to get through another 24 hours before I'll get some xrays done of his clavicles, and in the meantime he's getting regular vet prescribed analgesia, to keep him comfortable. And as you can see - his appetite isn't affected. I have a cautious hope for his survival, but we need to rule out fractures when our fave vet nurse is available to do the xrays. In the meantime I'm enjoying his tentative survival
