Experience the raw energy of the early Jazz Age! 🎷 Recorded on January 28, 1921, this is the Original Dixieland Jazz Band (ODJB) performing a Medley Fox Trot: "Crazy Blues" blended with the tune "It's Right Here For You". This legendary ensemble featured pioneers like Nick LaRocca on cornet and Eddie Edwards on trombone. Notably, this recording includes Benny Krueger on Alto Saxophone, marking a shift in the band's sound as they incorporated the saxophone into the classic Dixieland lineup. 🎵 Historical Context: While "Crazy Blues" became famous through Mamie Smith’s vocal version in 1920 (the first blues vocal hit), this instrumental rendition by the ODJB showcases the high-energy "Hot Jazz" style that took New York and London by storm in the early 20s. 🎧 The Rescued Gramophone Restoration: I have meticulously restored this Victor 18729 (Matrix B-24826, Take 3) recording. Digital Remastering: Processed in Audacity to reduce the heavy surface noise characteristic of 100-year-old shellac discs. Audio Rescue: Carefully equalized to bring out the bright clarinet of Larry Shields and the driving piano of J. Russel Robinson. Musicians on this recording: Nick LaRocca (Cornet) Eddie Edwards (Trombone) Larry Shields (Clarinet) Benny Krueger (Alto Saxophone) J. Russel Robinson (Piano) Tony Sbarbaro (Drums/Traps) If you enjoy historical audio preservation, consider subscribing to The Rescued Gramophone for more vintage rescues! 🏛️ #JazzHistory #1920s #OriginalDixielandJazzBand #CrazyBlues #Remastered #TheRescuedGramophone #VintageJazz #78rpm #AntiqueAudio #musicrestoration #JazzCover Legal & Copyright Notice: Public Domain Status: This recording was originally published in 1921 and is in the Public Domain in the United States according to the Music Modernization Act (MMA).
