Great to spend some quality time with our Line Brother, Micah Thompson, Loss Control Training Director, with the Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina. Micah shared some important details regarding Safety, and Team, and what is truly important while we are working on the line. After graduating from High School in 2002, Micah began his commercial and industrial electrician career. He worked for 3.5 years as an electrician for Mallard and M&M Electric, and another 3 years for the University of South Carolina in the High Voltage Department. In 2008, Micah began his employment at Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative in Lexington, SC. He was a lineman for 10 years, and then a crew foreman in the substation department another 3 years. In January 2022, Micah joined the statewide association, he is currently enrolled in John Brown University, studying Psychology. He is married to his bride, Ashley Thompson for 18+ years, with 3 sons. Sit down and take some notes as Mr. Micah shares his experiences and guidance moving forward.
