🔴 George's Lymphoma GoFundMe: https://bit.ly/4k0WUIC It’s a thrift shopping marathon today! We’re hitting every Value Village in the vicinity of Vancouver, Canada, in one afternoon of vintage hunting. Are great things available at bargain prices for collectors and resellers? The hunt begins! Our first stop is at their new Boutique store, where fashion and accessories (and oddly, books) are featured. It’s a great-looking store, but our favorite 1960s Italian table is not for sale, so we head to their regular stores for a broader vintage selection. Off we go to Richmond, where the selection reflects an Asian émigré clientele… meaning the Pyrex Cinderella Daisy bowl is underpriced and ours to take! Next stop is Queensborough, where we’ve scored big on vintage and antiques before, and where today’s selection includes English china, Bohemian glass, and a silver fade cocktail set in a holder that has to go home with us! Tonalá pottery, Candlewick glass, and a Shawnee Granny Annie teapot all catch our eye, along with a super kitschy horseshoe ice bucket, Cuban copper, and a banjo barometer. A big 1/6 scale Honda motorcycle model box intrigues us… and there’s a surprise inside! The thrift chain’s Surrey store is our next stop, and we’re delighted to find a deal on a fun piece of Glo-Hill cherry Bakelite and chrome tableware, one of our favorite Canadian-made collectibles! We spend time with a fascinating Victorian set of leather history books, consider a clarinet, and kick ourselves later that we let size and weight scare us off from buying a really good pink 1950s typewriter. But our big score comes next, when we find a surprisingly good electrical device at half its lofty retail value! We’ll let you watch the video to see what it is, but its service papers and a quick test convince us it’s the thing to buy—even as we climb dangerously close to our tariff limit when we take things back to the USA. We should be buying even more, when we see the prices on the Pyrex Tree of Life! There’s time for one more Value Village before the Coquitlam store closes for the evening, so we run through and find a great 1920s Wedgwood neoclassical plate, a Meriden Victorian silver plate teapot, and another fun beverage set in a holder. Thrifting in Canada proves once again to be a great time, with lots of fun things we don’t see every day on our side of the border! 👉 Remember to like, comment, and subscribe for more antique & vintage adventures across the country! ———————————————————— ☀️ Do you want more info about an item you own?
