In this video, fascia educator Michelle Woodruff explains how to feel fascial restrictions in the body—and why they feel very different from tight muscles. Using the neck as a starting point (especially relevant in the age of “tech neck”), Michelle guides viewers through a slow, awareness-based movement exercise that helps identify fascial somatic sensations rather than muscular tension. Many people associate restriction with muscle tightness, popping, or limited range of motion. Fascial restrictions, however, show up as much subtler signals that require slowing down, breathing, and tuning inward. In this video, Michelle covers: ✔️ The difference between muscle tightness and fascial restriction ✔️ Why fascia responds to breath, especially the exhale ✔️ How to move in ultra–slow motion to detect fascial signals ✔️ What a “something” is (ping, pull, pause, resistance, burn, tug, vibration, thickness, and more) ✔️ Why these sensations are somatic, not mechanical ✔️ How developing fascial awareness makes self-release more effective Michelle also explains how this awareness can dramatically improve foam rolling and self-myofascial release. Instead of rolling mechanically or chasing pain, learning to stop on subtle fascial sensations allows the practitioner to apply a true pressure gradient—activating the piezoelectric effect and supporting a whole-body (quantum biological) response rather than a localized one. #FascialRestrictions #Fascia #MyofascialRelease #SomaticAwareness #TechNeck #NeckPainRelief #FoamRolling #SelfMyofascialRelease #BodyAwareness #SomaticMovement #NervousSystemRegulation #FascialHealth #HolisticMovement #PainScience #MindBodyConnection #chronicpain #myofascialrelease #myofascial #myofascialstlplus #fascialrelease #holistichealth #energyhealing #wellness #wellnesstips #energywork #grounding #groundingtechniques #piezoelectricity #earthing #fascia #bioelectricity #hypermobility #ehlersdanlos #ehlersdanlossyndrome #bodyawareness #neckpain #techneck
