This tutorial was made BEFORE the tip from the nurse mentioned that the mask HAD TO HAVE 2 different colours. This can still be easily done using this tutorial. Just cut 2 separate pieces of 8” x 8.5” (width x height) and join and sew with 0.5” seam allowance. Roll in the seams as usual but leave the gap right at the bottom instead of rolling it behind. The reason why I used one solid piece of fabric for this tutorial initially - was to save time. Using 2 different pieces to make the mask means double the cutting time and an extra line to sew. Hope this helps. ________________________________ Quick and easy pattern that only requires 5 lines of sewing. Hand-sewing demo: • How to hand-sew a simple pleated face mask... Hope it helps more people get on board with wearing homemade masks. In this video, I showed 2 ways of securing the mask - by elastic cords and tying by twill tapes. There’s also a little more precision in pleating if “winging the pleats” isn’t your favorite thing. Towards the end of the video, I also shared how you can make adjustable elastic loops by tying fisherman’s knots. Fixed length elastics isn’t my favorite way to sew up masks actually as I prefer a little more flexibility to adjust the length. 🙂 Stay safe everyone! ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** Easy 5-line Pleated Mask (with filter) With elastic cords or twill tape tying options. ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** Finished dimensions - 7” by 3.5” Toddler Dimensions Width - 6” Height - 14” Kids Dimensions Width - 7” Height - 14” Adults Dimensions Width - 8” Height - 16” Pleating intervals for Toddler and Kid Mask Height of mask before pleating: 5.5" 0.75" 0.75", 0.5", 0.75", 0.5", 0.75", 1.5" Pleating intervals for Adult Mask Height of mask before pleating: 6.5" 1", 1", 0.5", 1", 0.5", 1", 1.5" Materials needed: 1) a piece of 8” x 16” cotton fabric 2) 2 pieces of 7” elastic cords or 4 pieces of 20” twill tape 3) pins 4) scissors 5) ruler 6) wonder clips Other Masks Styles 1.
