This practice is designed to help calm the busy mind, let go of racing thoughts and worries, and find peace within. You can enjoy this practice any time of day, anytime you want to embody a sense of peace and presence. It is a wonderful addition to your daily yoga asana practice or to your daily routine when things feel off balance. Find a comfortable supine position laying on the back body. Ensure the spine is supported and that the body is comfortable. You might lay on a blanket or bring a bolster in behind the knees. For an addition therapeutic and grounding effect, you might enjoy bringing support underneath the heels and a pillow under the head. An eye pillow could also be a nice touch. From there relax into the natural rhythm of the breath as you welcome in beautiful visualizations of the body as an ancient cedar tree establishing strong roots growing down from the base of the spine. Like any strong tree, the resiliency to move through life and face any challenges is dependent on a strong foundation. This practice is designed to help you reconnect to the earth element and to your body, and to harness a deep sense of connectedness, roundedness, wholeness, security, safety and peace within.
