Showing Dairy Cows at the 2024 Minnesota State Fair 4-H Dairy Show

Jessica earned her 2nd State Fair trip in 4-H! So, Jessica, Carmel, 3 of Jessica's friends, and their dairy animals headed down to Saint Paul to the Great Minnesota Get Together. It was an early trip as the kids arrived at 4 a.m. trying to beat the rush of trailers coming that day. Jessica got to see her first crowning of Princess Kay of the Milky Way in person. The kids learned a lot of things by attending workshops and taking part in interviews. Come Saturday, it was showtime. Jessica earned a blue ribbon and 4th place. The Carlton County kiddos also placed 12th in overall dairy herdsmanship. Before we knew it, it was time to head home. We got to see a lot of very fun things like Princess Kay of the Milky Way getting her head carved in butter, numerous booths, and multiple days of the draft horse show including the unicorn hitch and 6-horse hitch.
