Biochar first try first thoughts - what is

My first batch of Biochar. I still need to crush this up into smaller pieces and load it, or activate it, by mixing it into compost. Biochar is a great way to take organic waste that will otherwise simply be burned, and turn it into almost pure carbon which can enrich the soil and play a part in reducing the effects of climate change. My plan is to document as much as I can of my journey into a new way of life, learning to respect the land, make use of what's available, put back into it instead of always taking. And learning to slow down, notice things and reconnect with nature.
