The West End cams were fixed today by Dr Sharpe who went out there and found a tripped breaker. Akecheta (A-61) was in a territorial dispute with another male intruder around Jan 18th and the following day he was seen with injuries and blood on his face. The last we saw of Akecheta before the cams went down was him in a submissive pose below Thunder & the Intruder on the tor. He did not move nor did he fly off for the night. There was a lot of fog today so the video is not the best quality but the visitor & Thunder are both on the night perch sleeping together tonight. The fate of Akecheta is unknown. It appears that Thunder has accepted the visitor. This eagle is not the one that fought with Akecheta because it is banded 58/D - the intruder was an unbanded eagle. 😢 I feel sad that we may never know what happened to him. There has been a lot of loss at these nests lately. 📌 Here is my video of Akecheta after his territorial fight with the intruder. • West End Eagles ~ Territorial Dispute Bet... It is difficult for us viewers to see the turn of events here but the eagles live in the moment and move on quickly from loss. Their whole purpose in life is to procreate their species and it is breeding time now in West End. We may see Thunder & this visitor become a couple. We watch, we observe life going on in West End. But it hurts our hearts to think about what happened to Chet. 😢😢 Thank you for watching!
