In this video series, I'll be replacing the fuel pump assembly and doing routine maintenance to my 2011 Yamaha TMAX 500. The service manual recommends a major service every 12,000 miles and a valve clearance check at 26,600 miles. My TMAX is at almost 28,000 miles, and the last major service was at 12,000 miles, so it's time to dig in. In part 5, I'm porting the TMAX's cylinder head! A little bit of work and a very small amount of expense may allow me to pick up some extra power through the process of primarily pocket porting or bowl blending. A little bit of port matching is done as well and smoothing casting flaws. The valves are lapped and the reinstalled so the head is ready for use. If you own a TMAX and are considering doing your own service, or are thinking about getting a TMAX, I hope the TMAX service series will help you get an idea of what it's like to do the 12,000 mile service, due at 12,000, 24,000, 36,000 and so on. This particular video is less about service and more about performance and may be helpful for motorcycles, smaller scooters and even autos. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tip Jar ( PayPal) : https://paypal.me/49ccscoot ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Products And Tools (affiliate links) -------------------------------------- Foredom SR w/foot control : https://amzn.to/3fEHRW8 Foredom H.28 handpiece : https://amzn.to/3AmwPN5 Foredom inner flex shaft (These can break if it catches.
